India is home to the largest film industry in the world.
The Indian film Industry in sheer quantity has left Hollywood way behind.
It is a bit of a dichotomy that a poor nation has excelled in the movie world.
But there is a bigger anomaly in that it cannot be explained how the Indian youth which is predominantly Hindu look up to Muslim stars as icons.
The Mumbai film industry as a matter of fact has always been dominated by Muslims.
Even after independence the topmost star of that period was a Muslim.
Only he changed his screen name to Dilip Kumar.
Perhaps he felt it was easier to be accepted by the Hindu masses if he adopted a Hindu name.
Times however have changed and now the Muslim heroes flaunt their names as well as their religion.
It is difficult to explain how the top 3 stars of the Mumbai screen are all Muslims namely Amir Khan, Sharukh Khan and Salman Khan.
These stars have endeared themselves to the Hindu masses who adore them.
I dare say as easily as the Hindu youth and masses have accepted Muslim heroes will the opposite happen i.

Hindu heroes in any Muslim country like Pakistan? The popularity of the 3 khan heroes is not confined to any region in India but is spread to all corners of India from Assam to Rajasthan and Punjab to Bangalore.
The reason for this is in the psyche of the Hindu mind.
It is always conditioned to accept the inevitable.
Struggle is something alien to Hindu thought.
Thus when the Moslems ruled the Hindus for nearly 800 years the Hindus accepted their fate and never revolted against their alien rulers.
In addition in their own land they accepted to pay the Jizzia tax so that they could profess their religion.
Nowhere in history has such servitude and servility been shown by any race.
The top Muslim heroes play Hindu roles and thus try and endear themselves to the masses.
In addition either by design or chance most of the Muslim heroes have married Hindu girls.
This again is a phenomenon that cannot be explained.
Mumbai is home to the virulent Hindu rightist party the Shiv Sena headed by the octogenarian Bala sahebThackery.
Despite all his loud talk and bravado Bala saheb and his Shiv sena followers have been unable to galvanize the Hindus in any way and in Mumbai itself it is the Muslims who call the shots.
I for one on a personal level like the Muslim stars - in fact they are mega stars but the psyche of the Hindu is difficult to fathom.
Perhaps hundreds of years of servility have made them lose their moorings.
They appear lost and way ward.
No amount of parties like Shiv Sena can help.
The Hindus in a nut shell will have to do a lot of introspection.
