- 1). Pick up the table and take it to a place where you have room to work, such as out in a garage. Set the table, with the top down, on the floor.
- 2). Find and remove the screws, if any, used to secure the legs to the table with the screwdriver.
- 3). Measure the height of each of the table legs with the tape measure. Make a note of the measurement of the shortest table leg.
- 4). Measure the other table legs to the measurement you noted in Step 3. Make a mark on the each table leg with the pencil.
- 5). Place a carpenter's square on the pencil marks and draw a straight line. This will be where the table legs need to be cut or trimmed.
- 6). Set one of the table legs on a pair of saw horses and secure it with a clamp.
- 7). Plug the circular saw into an electrical outlet. Align the blade of the saw on the pencil line you made in Step 5. If you do not have a circular saw, use a hand saw.
- 8). Pull the trigger on the saw and cut along the line. Repeat Steps 6 through 8 for the remaining table legs.
- 9). Reattach the legs to the table and turn it right-side up. Place a level on the table to see if it sits level on the floor.
