Teaching the kids to clean up their toys, books and clothes can be a challenge for all frazzled parents so adds a bit of fun to the dreary task. Start some dance music, get the feet moving, and pick up those toys to the beat of your favorite songs.
Stick With What Works If your child's teacher uses a "clean-up" song to get the kids to pick up the classroom toys, learn the song and use it at home. Consistency is key to getting a clean-up plan to work!
Set a Time Limit No need to dance late into the night. Set a three or four song limit so that everyone knows how long they have to pick up those toys - and how long they've got to play.
Reward If the dance/clean-up time is popular, offer one extra clean-up song if a certain task is completed. Or, let the children choose the playlist for the next dance session.
