How to Install vCenter

    • 1). Insert the VMware DVD or CD or navigate to the location of the install MSI file stored on the computer. The DVD or CD starts the installation wizard automatically when you insert the media. Double-click the MSI file to start the installation for downloaded storage.

    • 2). Select your language from the drop-down on the first window and click "Next." Click "Next" on the welcome screen to view the Terms of Service window. Check the box that indicates that you agree to the terms and click "Next."

    • 3). Type your name and your company's name in the "Personal Information" window. Click "Next." In the next window, type your VMware license key that came with your download or media package, then click "Next."

    • 4). Type your SQL Server name, database name and your SQL username and password to connect to the database. vCenter uses SQL Server to store the VMware settings and connections. Click "Next" after you type your information.

    • 5). Click "Install" on the final window. The software installs on the server. Reboot the computer when the installation completes.
