Wakestock Festival

Wakestock held in Julyis Europe's largest 3 day festival of wakeboarding, music and fun. All day, every day and every night high speed wakeboarders are towed behind 25 mph speed boats using the boat's wake to launch into the air, pulling technical inverts, spins and hair raising stunts. This thrilling spectacle is presented by the world's best in a non stop carnival atmosphere with an awesome concert, generating atomic waves of pounding music to fill the air. Throngs of young people meet, greet and party until Abersoch rocks!
Abersoch Jazz Festival
Just as peace returns another crowd moves in and another three day event begins. Abersoch Jazz Festival held in September is a firm favourite with jazz musicians and jazz fans, young and old arriving from all over the world to play, listen and dance. The days pass in a joyful commotion of parades, jazz buses, workshops, big bands, groups and solo artists. Every available venue is commandeered even the local chapel vibrates to the sound of jazz. Once again Abersoch rocks!
Beaches
Abersoch holiday homes are close to several beaches. Abersoch Main Beach, sandy and sheltered with fabulous views of the mountains and St Tudwal's Islands, is ideal for family fun and watersports enthusiasts. An exclusion zone for motor boats ensures safety for all. Boat trips explore the islands to watch seals and other marine wildlife. National and international sailing events held from the beach provide great entertainment for participants and spectators alike. Windsurfers love this beach too. Gaily painted beach huts are available to hire by the day or the week. Even pet dogs are welcome but in restricted areas only during high season. Abersoch Harbour Beach has a small area of sand beside the River Soch as it meets the sea. A lot more sand is exposed at low tide. Old quarry buildings and remains of an old jetty can still be seen on the headland of Quarry Beach. Wind conditions make this a popular venue for kite surfing. Marchroes is a wonderfully scenic, sand and shingle beach with good surf. Access on foot only, ensures it remains quiet and secluded.
A Walk on the Wild Side

The Lleyn Coastal Path meanders for 91 miles (148km) through diverse landscapes rich in wildlife. Walkers can explore tiny coves, sandy beaches, rugged seacliffs, small harbours and wild heath from Caernarfon along the north coast to Uwchmynydd and then along the southern coast to Porthmadog. In some places the path moves inland and on to high ground offering spectacular views across the whole peninsula.
Retail Therapy
A number of interesting and independent shops offer an eclectic mix of beach goods, handmade jewellery, books, photographs, hand crafted furniture, surf gear, clothes, fishing paraphernalia, gifts, groceries and some little shops even manage to sell all of the above under the same roof! The Makers Market held monthly alongside the River Soch brings together the finest local food producers and talented art & craft artisans. Everything is sourced, grown, baked, created or made by selected specialists with unique, original and inspiring designs.
Abersoch Golf Club
Friendly Abersoch Golf Club has a challenging mix of 18 holes on traditional links and parkland right on the coast edge. Designed in 1907 by Harry Vardon who famously said
"...take a moment to reflect the views from the 3rd, 5th, 7th, 14th and 16th tees. They will enhance your golf round."

More Beaches & Bardsey Island
If you should ever tire of Abersoch's own attractions you won't need to go far to find more fabulous beaches such as Porth Neigwl (Hell's Mouth), popular with surfers, Porth Ceriad's secret, south facing beach, difficult to find but worth the effort, Porth Oer (Whistling Sands) and Yes! They do whistle. Llanbedrog Beach now owned by the National Trust, sandy and safe and at Aberdaron on the tip of the Peninsula boat trips leave regularly to visit Bardsey, the legendary 'Island of 20,000 saints' home to wonderful marine wildlife and countless seabirds.
Pony Trekking
On the stunning Cilan Headland, just three miles from Abersoch, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and a Site of Special Scientific Interest, horse riding is a joy. Cilan Riding Centre caters for all ages and riders of all abilities.
