- 1). Blot the red nail polish stain with a paper towel, removing as much of the polish as possible from the upholstery.
- 2). Pour a small amount of nail polish remover on the stain. The nail polish remover loosens the nail polish. Blot the stain with a paper towel to soak up the loosened polish. Repeat this process until no more nail polish will lift away on the paper towels.
- 3). Apply dry cleaning solvent to the stain. Like nail polish remover, dry cleaning solvent works to loosen stains on fabric. Blot the stain with a paper towel.
- 4). Soak a cotton ball in hydrogen peroxide. Blot the stain with the cotton ball. Blot the area dry with a paper towel.
- 5). Mix 1 teaspoon of washing powder in 1 cup of lukewarm water. Dip a washcloth in the solution and gently rub the stain area. Blot dry with paper towels.
