Cleaning Roofs through Pressure Washing

Almost all types of roofs are flat surfaces placed only at varying angles covering a large area.  This is what makes cleaning roofs very difficult, especially since it involves great heights.  To make cleaning roofs easier, you will need cleaning equipment such as a pressure washer and a specialized accessory which can help you to cover more area more easily.  Being able to cover more area at one time will not only make cleaning easier, but faster as well.

The most recommended pressure washer accessory when cleaning roofs is the flat surface cleaner.  These attachments are available in 8 inch to 28 inches sizes which means they can cover a lot of surface area with just one sweep.  In fact, the flat surface cleaner is the perfect cleaning attachment for flat surfaces and it is very reliable in cleaning and removing tough dirt that are clinging on to your roof.

On regions that are humid, roofs are often infested with black fungus buildup.  The deterioration on the quality of the roof is often attributed to the buildup of these black funguses.  In addition, their color not only makes the roof look old, but unsightly as well.  Experienced cleaning professionals know that these buildups occur due to an area or regions weather condition.  If an area or region is humid, there is a high chance that such buildup will occur which means the roof needs to be cleaned at least once every three years to prevent the deterioration of the roof.

There are cleaning professionals who prefer using the bleach method when cleaning roofs.  They find it easy to eradicate such buildup when using bleach.  There are other cleaning professionals on the other hand who dislike using bleach when cleaning roofs because they believe bleach can create negative effects on the roof such as discoloration on parts of the roof, and corrosion on steel parts, such as nails, screws, and rivets that hold the roof together.  Instead, they use the power of pressure washers to wash away these nasty black fungus buildups.

Pressure washing the roof usually involves two phases.  The first phase involves the removal of the fungus buildup, and the second phase involves the rinsing and washing off of the buildup that has been removed.
