To run a business you will need to have a limitless amount of energy, fuelled by your passion and belief in your idea.
You will have heard of the saying 'the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak' It is time for some self analysis and a few home truths.
Are you fit for your business? If the answer is 'NO'!..
...
Start by making small changes to your life style.
Think carefully about what you are eating and drinking.
Alcohol is a depressant so save it for your says off.
What are you 'fuelling' your body with in the morning? If you are skipping breakfast, then I would suggest this is the place to start.
'I haven't got time in the morning' is poppycock! Get up earlier and over cereal, fruit and toast, plank your day ahead.
I guarantee you will feel better for it.
If you really can't face anything first thing, take some healthy snacks like bananas, nuts, , dried fruit or a cereal bar with you, so that you avoid the 'latte and muffin' routine (save that for a special treat).
When I was pregnant I was told to 'make every bite count' to fuel my body for my growing baby.
The same applies for you.
You ARE your biggest and most valuable business asset so it makes sense to look after yourself, and your diet is the most important place to start.
Exercise is important for everyone, but again, it is even more important when you need to have your energy levels at maximum.
If you are mainly in the office, car or in meetings, get into the habit of walking or cycling to the bank, post office or suppliers and make it part of your working day.
It will clear your head and make you energised to carry on when you get back.
Getting enough sleep is extremely important and I have found 'early to bed, early to rise' the best philosophy.
If you have trouble sleeping because of all of the business thoughts hurtling through your brain like an express train, learn about some simple meditation methods to send you off and give your poor brain a rest.
Finally, take time out.
Yes, your business needs you 24/7 but you also need to look after yourself.
Total switch off time is imperative if you are going to be effective in your business.
Also, you need to give your family some time.
Plan in 'ME TIME' every day and complete switch off time every week.
I guarantee you will benefit and so will your profit margins! GOOD LUCK!
