• Compact and lightweight, the Samsung Mesmerize/Fascinate measures 4.9 inches long, 2.5 inches wide and 0.4 inches deep and weighs 4.2 ounces. Its 4-inch touchscreen displays more than 16 million colors at 480 by 800 pixels of resolution, producing crisp images and easy-to-read text. A standard lithium-ion battery, when fully charged, provides the Mesmerize with up to 312 hours, or 13 days, of standby time and up to seven hours of talk, or operational, time. The Fascinate, on the other hand, gets up to 300 hours, or 12.5 days, of standby time and up to 5.8 hours of talk time.
  
  

Memory and Connectivity

• Equipped with 2GB of internal memory, the Mesmerize/Fascinate comes with a built-in micro-Secure Digital (microSD) card slot for up to 32GB of expanded memory. The phone connects to the 2G and 3G wireless networks using code-division multiple access (CDMA) technology and is compatible with Wi-Fi networks. For adding content and synchronizing data, the phone connects to a personal computer through a microUSB cable. The phone also offers a variety of Bluetooth wireless profiles, including object push, hands-free and headset. These profiles enable you to place and receive calls through a wireless headset or the phone's speakerphone and to transfer data from one device to another.
  
  

Camera and Messaging

• The Mesmerize/Fascinate contains a 5-megapixel digital camera that captures still images at up to 2,592 by 1,944 pixels of resolution and can record 720p high-definition video. The camera offers several photographic features, such as auto focus, digital zoom and smile detection. The phone also supports text, voice, video and photo messages and provides mobile email through connections to a Post Office Protocol (POP3), Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) or Internet Message Access Profile (IMAP4) server.
  
  

Miscellaneous

• The Mesmerize/Fascinate comes with an assisted-GPS application, which uses a combination of cellular tower and satellite signals for navigational functionality. The phone's camera also provides geotagging, a process that embeds map and GPS coordinates into each picture taken by the phone. This feature is especially useful if you are unsure of your exact whereabouts when taking a picture. The Mesmerize/Fascinate supports several social networks, including Facebook and Twitter.
