- If the automatic or manual cycles fail to start the watering process, there might be an issue with the timer wiring. Confirm that all field wiring is secure, including wiring between the master valve and timer. Inspect each wire for damage, such as a skinned wire, cuts or breaks. If any wires are compromised, replace them. Lift the wiring cover and press the "Reset" button to reset the timer. An electrical surge may have occurred and damaged the electronics of the timer. If the damage was light, the timer will continue normal operation.
- If the sprinklers fail to produce water during the automatic or manual irrigation cycle, inspect the water source to confirm that it's functioning properly. Confirm that all supply lines and water lines are open. Insert the supplied key into the "Shut-Off" socket of all rotary sprinkler heads and twist it counterclockwise to confirm that the flow is turned on.
- If the irrigation system isn't functioning when it's supposed to, take a look at the timer dial and confirm that it's set to "Auto Run" or "Run." If the dial is in any other position, the timer is inactive and the sprinklers won't turn on. If you have a Rain Bird Rain Sensor connected to your timer, it might be activated, thus preventing the sprinklers from turning on. Wait for the sensor to dry out or disconnect it from the yellow terminals on the timer. Attach a single wire between the two yellow terminals to activate the timer and sprinklers.
- If the LCD screen is blank, there might be a problem with the transformer or wall socket. Confirm that the timer is plugged in securely to the transformer and that the transformer is plugged in snugly to the wall. Unplug each component to reset the connection. Plug in a separate electronic device into the wall outlet and turn it on to confirm that the outlet is functioning properly. Unplug the device and plug the transformer back in. If the power is out, the installed 9-volt battery should provide backup power. If it is not doing so, replace it. The battery should be replaced at least once a year.
