- 1). Create a new, blank document in MS Word by opening the "File" menu and choosing "New."
- 2). Click the Insert Table button in the Word toolbar and drag your mouse to the row and column that corresponds with the number of rows and columns you want to include in your table. Tables that are three rows by three columns are typically fine, but include more or less if you already have an idea for how you want your flyer to look.
- 3). Remove the borders of your table so that the guide lines are not visible by clicking on the top, left, right and bottom border buttons in the tables toolbar. If the borders are not removed completely, click on the cell in which the borders still remain and click the button that corresponds with the remaining border line.
- 4). Click and drag your cursor along the top row of cells to highlight every cell in that row. Click on the Merge Cells button to make this row a single, continuous cell.
- 5). Enter the text for the title of your flyer in the top cell. Increase the font size of the title by choosing a larger size from the font toolbar. The size of the font will depend on the number of words in your title, but aim for a size above 32.
- 6). Add images to a cell in your flyer by accessing the "Insert" menu and choosing either "Clipart" or "File" option depending on the source of your image. The Clipart option will allow you to insert an image from Microsoft's database of images, while the File option will let you put in your own image file from your hard drive.
- 7). Continue to add text or images to the cells of your table. The cells will automatically stretch to accommodate what you have inserted into the table. The table will keep each of your elements organized in their rows and columns so that your flyer looks neat and professional.
- 8). Add additional rows or columns if necessary by opening the "Table" menu and choosing "Insert" and then either "Row" or "Column." You can also split a cell into two or more cells by clicking on that cell and pressing the "Split Cell" button.
