How to Do a Wi-Fi Tether With the Android on Bluetooth

    Set Up Your Android Phone

    • 1). Visit the Android Market and search for the "PdaNet" application. Download and install the PdaNet application to your Android phone.

    • 2). Visit the PdaNet website on your computer. Download and install the PdaNet application that is appropriate for your computer.

    • 3). Run the PdaNet application on your Android phone. Select "Enable Bluetooth DUN" from the PdaNet menu. Your Android phone will be available to discover via Blueooth for two minutes.

    Connect via Bluetooth (Windows)

    • 1). Click the Bluetooth icon in the Windows system tray and select "Add a Device" from the Bluetooth menu.

    • 2). Select your phone from the list of available devices. Click "Next."

    • 3). Verify that your phone is the device you are connecting with. Match the device code to the device code on your phone, and select "Yes." On your phone, select "Pair" before clicking the the "Next" button on your computer. If your phone is not displaying a device code, select "The device is not displaying a code."

    • 4). Click the "Connect" button next to "Use your phone to connect to the Internet" on the Bluetooth Phone Operations and Settings screen.

    Connect via Bluetooth (Mac)

    • 1). Select "System Preferences" from the Apple menu. Click the "Bluetooth" icon in the System Preferences Window.

    • 2). Click the "Add +" button to add a Bluetooth connection. Select your phone from the available Bluetooth devices. Follow the Apple setup wizard instructions to connect with your phone.

    • 3). Select "Access the Internet with your phone's data connection" when you reach the Mobile Phone setup screen. Select the "Use a direct, higher speed connection" to ensure your 3G or 4G connection is used.

    • 4). Enter "#777" in the "GPRS CID String" field of the Internet Access screen. Keep the "Username" and "Password" fields blank. Select the "Modem Script" that corresponds to your mobile phone carrier, and click "Continue."

    • 5). Click "Connect" on the Bluetooth Networking screen to connect your Mac to the Internet through your Android phone.
