How to Convert Text to Powerpoint

    • 1). Open Microsoft Word in "Outline View." In Microsoft Word 2003, select "Outline" from the "View" menu. In Microsoft Word 2007, select "Outline" from the "View" tab in the ribbon located at the top of the screen.

    • 2). Apply indentation levels to each section and subsection of the text by highlighting the text and applying the appropriate style from the style toolbar.

    • 3). Select "Save As" from the file menu, located in the top left corner of Microsoft Word.

    • 4). Type a title for the text document in the pop-up "Save As" dialog box.

    • 5). Select RTF (rich text format) from the file type drop-down menu in the pop-up "Save As" dialog box.

    • 6). Press "Save."

    • 7). If you have not already opened Powerpoint and started a "New Presentation" file, do so now. Once this is done, select "Slides from Outline" from the "Insert" menu.

    • 8). Select the RTF file you created. This will convert the text directly to Powerpoint and automatically generate a presentation.
