Actually the question should be, can I afford not to start running or doing some sort of exercise? I'm sure you have read a tremendous amount on why a person should exercise, so I am not going to go into all the benefits of exercise but rather why running should be your choice of exercise.
All you really need to run are a pair of shorts, a T shirt and a pair of running shoes.
You don't need to buy a gym contract or expensive equipment.
You won't need to travel anywhere to do your sport, you just head out the door and start running.
You are not limited to any time or place to run, Run anytime anywhere.
Your out in the open, breathing fresh air, not those nasty stale gym odors.
You can run different routes and experience different things every time you run.
No matter your age or fitness level, anybody can run.
Of course the physical benefits are many, stronger cardiovascular system, fitter stronger body and so on.
But what about the psychological benefits.
Running releases endorphins into the system which act as a natural high and make you feel good.
The mere fact that you are outdoors and in the fresh air is extremely soothing for the body and soul.
You de-stress while you run.
Running time is time for yourself, away from the kids and your daily grind.
You are also sure to meet some interesting people along your routes.
Give running a bash, sure it's tough in the beginning but the rewards far outweigh the initial effort to get over those first tough weeks, ask a runner.
