Instructions
1Use direct mailing to get locations to pre-qualify themselves. Print up a good quality brochures and mail them to businesses that fit the profile you are looking for. Include a postage paid form for them to send back. If they send the form back you know they are looking for vending service, and are worth your time to pursue.
2
Make phone calls to businesses and ask to speak to the decision maker. Do not waste precious time talking to someone in the business who does not have the authority to give you an answer. Ask the business owner or operator if they already have vending service and if they are satisfied with their existing service. If the answer to either question is no, offer your service.
3
Visit businesses in person to try to locate your vending machines. This is more time consuming, but can often be very effective. Ask to see their existing vending machines if they have them. Check their current vend price to see if you can do better. Compare the machines they have with the ones you have to offer. If they do not already have vending, ask to see their employee break room to see if your machines fit.
4
Approach a local children's group, such as the Boy Scouts. Talk to the leader about the possibility of the children locating accounts for your vending machines as a fundraiser. Pay the group a set amount for each vending location they find for you. It is difficult for some business people to say no to a child.
5
Hire a professional vending locator service if you are unable to locate accounts yourself. Most of them require half of the fee that they charge upfront and the balance paid after you install your machines.
