- 1). Locate the support arm adjustment holes on the sides of the Thule strap rack. Determine if the model Thule rack you are using can be adjusted based on a numbered hole on each side. Refer to the owner's manual to obtain the exact hole number that corresponds to the installation vehicle.
- 2). Loosen and remove the wing nuts in the numbered adjustment holes and position the support arms based on the number assigned to the installation vehicle in the manual. Alternately, position the rack on the vehicle and adjust the support arms to fit the contour of the vehicle if no manual is available.
- 3). Secure the arms in place by inserting the wing nuts into the numbered hole that provides the best fit. Tighten the wing nuts securely.
- 4). Raise the bike support arms until the lock button clicks into place. Make sure the support arms are firmly in position by pushing or pulling against them as these arms hold the bikes during transport.
- 5). Place the strap rack on the vehicle so it is centered from side to side. Pull the support arm that is attached to the top up toward the vehicle and secure it to the trunk lid or tailgate top with the included plastic coated hooks. Adjust the straps so the rack is supported in position.
- 6). Pull the straps attached to the lower support arm down and hook to the bottom of the bumper or other secure location. Tighten the straps so the rack is held securely in place.
- 7). Locate the straps attached to the sides of the Thule rack and pull them out to the side of the hatch or trunk lid. Attach the hooks and tighten the straps to provide lateral support for the rack.
