How to Cover a Bottle With Rope

    • 1). Push a hot glue stick into a hot glue gun. Plug in the hot glue gun to heat for 10 minutes.

    • 2). Place a glass bottle onto a table top. Select a glass bottle that is about 10 to 12 inches high and four to six inches wide.

    • 3). Cut a hemp rope to measure 48 inches long. Cut the ends of the rope at an angle using pruning shears.

    • 4). Squeeze a pea-sized dollop of hot glue onto one of the cut ends of the rope, and press the glued end onto the bottom edge of the glass bottle. Hold the end of the rope onto the bottle for 2 minutes so that the glue can cool and harden.

    • 5). Squeeze a line of hot glue along 12 inches of the rope, and wind the rope around the bottle into a tight coil. Keep the rope as close together as you can, making sure that the hot glue is staying on the glass. Hold the rope in place for 2 minutes to cool and harden.

    • 6). Squeeze a line of hot glue along 12 more inches of the rope, and wind the rope around the bottle as before. Continue until the entire rope has been wound around the glass bottle.

    • 7). Squeeze a dollop of hot glue onto the end of the rope, which is cut at an angle, and press it onto the bottle so that it is flush with the bottle. Hold the rope end onto the bottle for 2 minutes to let the glue harden before displaying the rope bottle.
