How to Download Your Playlist From iTunes to Your iPod

    • 1). Connect your iPod with the included USB cable to your computer. This will launch iTunes automatically. In the left-hand scoll bar of iTunes, you should see an iPod icon and your iPod's name under "Devices."

    • 2). Go to the top of the left-hand scroll bar of iTunes and under Library, click "Music." This will display all of the songs from your iTunes collection in the main window. In the File Menu, choose "New Playlist." This will create an "Untitled Playlist" in the left hand scroll bar. Immediately change the name of this playlist to something that you will remember ("Songs for the Gym" or "Road Trip 2010," for example).

    • 3). Find songs you want to add to the play list from your music collection. When you find a song, drag and drop it into the play list you have created. Continue doing this until you have all the songs you want in the play list.

    • 4). Drag and drop the play list from the left-hand scroll bar onto your iPod's name to add the play list to your iPod. iTunes will display a message "Updating Files on iPod" and show the progress as it copies the songs from your library to your device. Your iPod screen will display a message "Do Not Disconnect."

    • 5). Click the eject button next to your iPod's icon when updating has completed and wait for the menu screen to appear. It is not safe to disconnect the iPod from your computer. The play list you just added will now appear in the Playlist menu on your iPod.
