How do I Copy Audio CD to ISO Files?

    • 1). Find ISO creation software. For OSX users, Disc Utility, an application included with the operating system, can be opened from the Utilities menu. Windows users can download DaemonTools, Alcohol 120% or ISO Recorder for free.

    • 2). Install the application if necessary and open it.

    • 3). Insert the music CD you wish to copy into the CD drive of your computer.

    • 4). In the disc creation section of the ISO software, select ISO as the file type. Some software can create multiple varieties of disc images. ISO is among the most common and compatible, though others will work as well.

    • 5). Select your copying speed and save the disc image to your hard drive. A slower speed may help ensure the final file remains error free. Do not interrupt the copying process, or the ISO file may be damaged or unusable.

    • 6). Open ISO files with virtual disc drive software. These programs mount ISO images and allow you to run them on your computer or copy them to a physical disc. Some ISO creation programs, such as Daemon Tools and Disc Utility, also include virtual drive functionality.
