Have you ever felt miserable and bored at work? Or frustrated to be going through the same routine day-in and day-out? It's a sentiment many of us have to deal with, and sadly the reality for the most part is that life just isn't all that adventurous.
We watch films about people fighting dragons and leading armies, we play games where we're demons or super heroes, but then we switch off and get back to the reality of sitting in an office and making calls.
But it doesn't have to be this way, and actually there are plenty of ways you can get adventure in your daily life - you just have to be willing to chase it and have to know where you can find it.
Here we will look at some of the best adventures that are available to you right now.
If you wanted to, you could have these amazing experiences this coming weekend and it would hardly cost you anything.
Here are some top suggestions.
Go Geocaching Geocaching is a hobby that could only exist in the modern age, but that still has a good old fashioned sense of adventure.
Basically it involves downloading an app on your smart phone that uses GPS to allow you to track the location of hidden 'caches' and to mark the location of your own.
In short this is essentially a high tech form of treasure hunting that will make you feel like Lara Croft - and you never know quite what you're going to find.
Traversing or Bouldering It doesn't come much more exciting than going rock climbing and if you've seen the introduction to Mission Impossible 2 then you'll know what I mean.
However rock climbing isn't all that easy to get involved in, seeing as you need to have a spotter and a lot of equipment and knowledge (I don't recommend using Tom Cruise as a role model here...
).
What you can do though with no preparation and no equipment is to try 'traversing' which essentially means climbing horizontally instead of vertically.
It's a brilliant workout and just as action packed but not half as dangerous.
Alternatively you can try bouldering which means climbing up smaller boulders that don't involve the same height but have all the same challenge.
Exploring Caves An amazing day I had with my friends not that lot ago saw us exploring caves and exploring the sea around a local cove.
We did this by buying a rubber boat then just sailing out to whatever we saw that we found interesting.
The boat was only just big enough for all of us, but that was part of the fun.
Then we sat in an amazing cave we found and drank beer and chatted resulting in one of the most exciting and unusual nights out I've ever enjoyed.
Trying New Gadgets I don't mean tablets or computers - that's hardly an adventure.
Instead why not spend a day trying out powerbocks, or a remote control helicopter, or a pogo stick? Even if you never use it again if you can get these things cheaply (try freecycle) then you can have a lot of fun.
