What do you think about yourself? Do you know how beautiful you are? Do you consider yourself to be much smarter than everyone else? Do you believe that the world should revolve around you? If you answered yes to any of the last three questions, then believe it or not, you're abnormal.
Most people, even some A-list celebrities, suffer from low self esteem.
Your self esteem has a huge impact on your relationships with others.
It also factors into how you treat yourself.
A person with low self esteem will often have a hard time handling stress.
A more confident person, on the other hand, will be less likely to be overcome by stressful influences.
If you are suffering from low self esteem or a poor self image, then this is something that you really need to change.
Your happiness is often defined by how you feel about yourself, and if nobody has told you lately, you are smart enough and worthwhile are else you would not be taking the time to read this article.
Here are a few suggestions that may help you admit the truth about yourself.
It's time to stop letting them fool you; you are good enough.
1) Remember that you are unique.
Stop comparing yourself to others.
You may not be on magazine covers, but somebody somewhere has a picture of you - even if it is the FBI:) 2) Don't forget to laugh and smile.
It's a way to make new friends because people are nosy and will always wonder why you're so happy.
Besides, the very act of smiling releases some "happy chemicals" in your body that have a profoundly positive effect on you.
3) Be honest with yourself.
For every weakness you can identify, recognize one of your strengths as well.
Always remember what you bring to the table not what you can't bring.
4) Set realistic goals.
If you lose fifty pounds in one week, the odds are that you're going to be dead.
A pound or two is a more realistic objective.
An even better one is to make a commitment to changing your lifestyle.
5) Get past childhood and high school.
Call Bully Billy on the phone if you need to, but get over it.
Name calling didn't make you who you are today; you did.
Remember, in the ever popular words of Stuart Smiley, "You're good enough, smart enough, and doggone it - people like you.
" Say it enough and it will be true.
Try performing all these suggestions each day and watch your self-image blossom.
Be careful though - arrogance is an awful thing.
