Open Windows Media Center by clicking on the "Start" button. Click on the "Windows Media Center" icon. Open your disc drive on your computer by pressing the button. Insert your rewritable CD into the drive, and close the drive.

    • 2). The Windows Media Center will show an alert. Select "Burn CD" on the start screen. You also can choose "Tasks" icon, and select "Burn CD." Type the name of your CD in the "Burn CD" box. Hit enter.

    • 3). Click on formatting options. Select either live file system or mastered. Mastered should be the format chosen if you will be playing the disc on another computer or CD player. Live file system is used when you want the disc to act as a USB storage drive, but it will not be burned onto the CD. The mastered choice will allow you to set up all the media and burn to the disc.

    • 4). Select the media that you want on the CD. Click on the song to add it to the CD by burning. Continue to add your choices until you have used all the space available or complete your desired list.

    • 5). Click the review, edit button. Check that all of your choices are included. Choose "Burn CD/DVD." There will be a notification that your system is initializing copy. Select "Yes."

    • 6). Press "Done" when your disc has completed, and you have received a disc completion notification. Remove the disc from your drive. Place in a CD player to check the completion and quality of the burn.
