There seems to be no contradiction greater than God.
All descriptions and attributes of God seem to be so wrong that the opposite seems to be truer.
No wonder, many people are losing faith in God since what really exist in the world seems to be just opposite of what we know about God.
Let us now examine some of the attributes of God and investigate it by our own reason and logic.
1.
God is Omnipotent The most common description of God is that He is Omnipotent which simply means that there is nothing that God cannot do.
Yet we see that there are so many people who openly defy God and even ridicule Him, yet God does not do anything against them.
The greatest challenge seems to be the widespread prevalence of evil in the world.
Yet God seems to be "helpless" before the evil forces in the world.

God is Omnipresent God is supposed to be present in all beings and pervades all realities.
If that is true then why people commit evil acts and why God in them does not prevent them doing evil acts.
If God is indeed present in all, why does he not make the world good and every person virtuous? Since the very presence of God make a person virtuous, it seems that He is present only in few hearts and not Omnipresent.
3.
God is Love The greatest attribute of God is love.
His love is believed to be unconditional and pure.
Yet there is so much hatred in the world.
If He truly loves people, why everyone is not happy and filled with love? Observing the suffering of humanity, it seems that most people are not blessed with the love of God.

God is Just God is believed to be just Who treats everyone equally.
All the humanity is believed to be the offspring of God.
Yet we see extreme injustice in the world.
There is hardly any equality between man and man or between man and woman.
There seems to be more injustice than justice and more inequality than equality in the world.

God is Omniscient It is said that God is Omniscient and He knows everything what our mind thinks.
Yet we find that pure thoughts are not enough and God is to be worshiped with prayers and rituals.
The prayers, rituals and pilgrimages seem to be designed to communicate with God by an external means and not by mere thoughts.
The Knowledge of God The deepest knowledge of God which can be said to be "Supreme Knowledge" is mysterious.
Lao Tzu wrote in the Tao Te Ching, "Those who say, do not know.
Those who know, do not say"? The common description of God as discussed in the forgoing paragraphs is nothing but wishful thinking that had been propagated by the guardians of religions for making the religion more popular.
It is so because there are numerous religions in the world and all are competing with each other to enroll more and more member for their religion.
Hence like an advertiser always exaggerate the quality of the product to make a sale, the preachers often exaggerate the favorable aspect of God to garner more supporter.
Here lies the challenge to judge the Truth of God using our own commonsense and reason.
The problem is that we do not have the vision and thoughts of God as our understanding of God is very limited.
Most of us see God in our own image.
A corrupt man thinks that God can be pleased by offering and charity.
An honest man thinks that God can be pleased by good deeds only.
A faithful (religious) thinks that only by following prayers and rituals "religiously" God must give him all.
A spiritual person thinks that God should listen to his thoughts and fulfill his desires.
A businessman wants more profit and often promises a share of profit to God in anticipation of more profit.
But God is not the savant of man but their Master.
Everyone has to work as per the will of God and no one can dictate terms to God.
So by not following anyone's wish and doing everything as per His wish, God proves His Omnipotence.
The very fact that we see that there are some people who are so powerful and rich is a proof that God can give anything to a person if He pleases.
He is present in everyone to guide.
However, one who is not willing to listen to the voice of the soul and remains entangled with the worldly pursuits fails to feel His presence.
Yet his conscious never stop guiding him.
This is matter of experience to all of us.
It is due to His presence in all of us that we know the thoughts of others and feel for others.
The love of God is available for all.
However, His love too cannot be taken for granted.
If you disobey His commandments and follow the opposite path, you lose the love of God since by following the opposite path you harm those who love God.
If His love is same for all, how can He be Just? Those who do good deeds have to be awarded while those who commit evil are required to be punished.
Hence love and justice has to be balanced.
God also does not need prayers and rituals.
Yet without prayers and rituals, our thoughts are not focused.
Just like thoughts guide actions, the actions too guide thoughts.
Hence, the need for prayer and rituals is for the sake of creating the desired thoughts.
Those who have control of mind need not do any prayer.
The path of Yoga and meditation are also considered to be the path of God realization.
Know God without Words It is important to know God by personal experience rather than acquiring knowledge of Him through books and preaching.
Only when we understand Him properly, we can know His mind and discover His plan of action.
One who really knows need not to define God by any words as he knows that God is not this or that but He is everything that exist in this world.
