The Honda VTX1300 is a street motorcycle that comes in three configurations: a street rod, a highway cruiser and a classic retro-styled motorcycle. The differences between the three models are primarily cosmetic. Different models also may have slightly different accessories. The main mechanical specifications among the three, however, are identical. - The VTX1300 series uses a 1312-cubic-centimeter (cc) liquid-cooled engine. The engine is a V-twin with the cylinders at a 52-degree angle. The cylinder's bore and stroke is 89.5 by 104.3 mm. The engine features a 9.2:1 compression ratio and a single overhead cam with three valves per cylinder. The fuel tank on the three models is 4.8 gallons with a 1 gallon reserve.
- The three models of VTX1300 all offer digital ignition with three-dimensional mapping and two spark plugs per cylinder. The models all use a single 38mm constant velocity carburetor.
- Each of the three models of the Honda VTX1300 come equipped with a five-speed manual transmission. The three models use low-maintenance shaft-drive to transfer power from the transmission to the rear wheel.
- All three models in the VTX1300 series use 41mm forks with 5.1 inches of travel on the front of the motorcycle. The rear suspension features dual shock absorbers with 3.6 inches of travel and a five-position stiffness adjuster.
- The VTX1300 uses front and rear disc brakes. The front brakes use a single 336mm disc with twin-piston calipers. The rear brake is a single 296mm disc with a single piston caliper.
- The VTX1300 features a 65.6-inch wheelbase with a seat height across the line of 27.5 inches. Depending on the model, the weight can range from 678 to 748 lbs.
