How to Restore the Recovery Icon in Vista

    • 1). Click on the "Start" button from your Windows Vista desktop and then click on the "Control Panel" option.

    • 2). Click on the "Appearance and Personalization" option and then click on "Personalization."

    • 3). Click on the "Change desktop icons" option from the left navigation pane. Click "Restore Default."

    • 4). Click on the "Change Icon" button if the recovery icon doesn't reappear, then locate the Recovery application. Click on the "OK" button.

    • 5). Click on "Apply" and then click "OK." The Recovery icon will then be added to your desktop.
