- 1). Locate metal baby spoons. Wrap the ladled portion in soft material and place in a vise with the handle sticking upward. If the handle is thin, bend it back and forth until it separates. Leave a small segment of the handle intact. Alternately use a rotary tool that cuts metal.
- 2). File the handle end, then sand down the sharp edge with a sanding sponge until smooth enough to wear.
- 3). Sporting protective gloves, hold the spoon with tongs and heat the handle over a burner until hot. Curve the handle stub using coated pliers to form a bail. Allow to cool before handling.
- 4). Paint or etch on the spoon's inner curve. Seal the art and preserve the spoon's condition with clear resin. Polish with a silver cloth and slide the pendant onto a chain.
- 1). Arrange recycled colored pencils into a desired pattern. Cut pen springs in half and place between each pencil.
- 2). Cut pencils into one inch stubs. For a contemporary look, vary sizes into a fan configuration that gradually lengthens in the middle.
- 3). Sand stub ends until smooth. Then coat them with clear nail polish or sealant. Let dry.
- 4). Measure and mark the center point with a fine tip marker. Drill a small hole through the spot.
- 5). Slide onto the leather cord in the predetermined pattern. Secure with a cord end clasp.
- 1). Wash empty multicolored tin cans in warm water and remove any paper.
- 2). Donning leather gloves, cut out metal strips of varying widths and freehand shapes using tin cutters.
- 3). Cautiously sand down sharp edges with a hand file until smooth and sand any last delicate areas with fine-grained sandpaper.
- 4). Drill a hole at the top of each charm and insert a jump ring. Coat charms with nail polish or resin to seal and add sheen. Let charms completely dry and attach to linked bracelets, then hang on a chain or make into earrings.
