- 1). Shut off the vehicle's engine in place the transmission in the "Park" position. Engage the emergency brake if your vehicle features a manual transmission.
- 2). Open the vehicle's hood.
- 3). Examine the lower front portion of the passenger-side fender well and locate the large square-shaped charcoal canister used for the evaporative emissions system. The charcoal canister is black in color and features several small vapor lines, connected at the top.
- 4). Follow the rightmost vapor hose connected from the charcoal canister to the cylindrical-shaped purge valve. The purge valve features a yellowish metal exterior, two vapor line connections and a small wiring harness connector.
