How to Make Christmas Glitter Ornaments

The most popular and significant elements in any form of Christmas decoration is the ornaments.
One way is to secure some readymade items from the market.
However, apart from the obvious cost factors, they may not be compatible with your themes or up to your expectations.
Homemade decorative pieces allow a lot of room for customization, where every member of the family can participate.
You can create beautiful ornaments at highly affordable costs, often from the discarded or regularly used household items.
Here are some easy steps to complete your Christmas glitter ornaments for the coming holidays: Material Requirements: • Clear glass ball ornament or good quality plastic piece • Potpourri ball that can be opened into half (optional) • Re-inker or highly thinned paint of your choice • Superfine glitters of desired colors • Sponge brushes (optional) • Ribbon or craft strings • Rub-on holiday tattoos • Glue • Laces • A pair of craft scissors • Mirrors, holiday badges, or other decorations • Golden, silver, or copper trims • High-grade tissue papers or absorbent cloth Steps to make Christmas glitter ornament: Gather all the supplies in one place.
You will need either the glass ball ornament or the potpourri ball.
• Preparing the ornament: Open the top of the ornament.
Alternatively, open the potpourri ball into two.
• Adding primary color (Dripping method): Add a few drops of the re-inker or thinned paint into the ball.
Rotate it in various directions, such that the ink covers the entire surface of the ball from inside.
• Adding primary color (Sponge brush method): Use a sponge brush to cover the internal surface with color.
This is not a very suitable method for the glass ball opening from the top only.
Never use the ordinary paintbrush, as it will leave unsightly streaks.
• Cleaning: Remove any extra paint by inverting the piece over a tissue paper.
Clean the rim carefully.
• Adding glitters: As soon as you are finished with the base coat, add glitters to the ornament, while the color is still wet.
• Coating with glitters: Close the ball completely.
Join the two halves of the potpourri ball or cover the mouth of the glass ball.
Shake it powerfully and randomly, such that the glitters stick to the walls.
Ensure a smooth finish by repeating the steps.
• Tattooing: Use a Christmas themed tattoo, preferably a glittering one on the finished piece.
• Decoration: If you want to hide the hook or the rim of the potpourri ball, you can glue laces, ribbons, trims, or badges.
A few small mirrors will certainly add to the beauty.
