Guide Review - Vince Gill - When Love Finds You
?When Love Finds You? arrived in my life about the same time that I started to really get into country music. So for that alone, it?s a landmark album to me. That aside, the musical content held within the shiny little silver disc is nothing but spectacular.
There were six singles released from the album starting with the romantic ?Whenever You Come Around.? The fun ?What The Cowgirls Do? is as fresh sounding today as it was back when it hit #1 on the charts. The title track is as romantic as the first single while ?Which Bridge To Cross (Which Bridge To Burn)? was the lone traditional country standard that vince seemed to put on every album. ?You Better Think Twice? follwed in 1995 but was overshadowed later that year by a lesser hit which has become a signature song for Vince: ?Go Rest High On That Mountain.? The song won him many awards, which isn?t too bad for a song Vince wrote for his deceased brother (but finished after Keith Whitley died).
Anytime you can find a CD with six hits, it?s an album that should be purchased. When you add that the ?filler? could?ve been singles too, then it?s official. This is an album for the ages: a classic.
