Clay Mask

• You can use clay to make a mask, which can be customized to suit a variety of events, such as Halloween, a theatrical play, or to wear during Mardi Gras or Carnival. You can make a clay mask by rolling out a slab of clay to 1/4-inch thick. Drape the clay over your face, and press the clay into the creases and shapes of your face. Remove the mask, and set it onto a foam head form. Cut out eye holes, and allow the mask to dry completely. Paint the mask with ceramic glaze, and fire it in a kiln.
  
  

Clay Belly Cast

• If you are pregnant, you can create a clay belly cast that can allow you to keep a sculptural memory of your pregnancy. To make a belly cast out of clay, cut strips of canvas to measure three inches high and six inches long. Make a clay slip by combining three cups of water and one pound of clay in a large bowl. Dip the canvas strips into the clay slip, and drape them over your your pregnant belly. Cover the whole belly with at least five layers, and allow the cast to dry completely. Paint the cast with ceramic glaze, then fire it in a kiln.
  
  

Clay Wind Chimes

• You can make wind chimes out of clay, which can be a thoughtful handmade gift for a family member or friend. Start by rolling out a clay slab that is 1/4-inch thick. Cut out six shapes from the slab, which can be cut in any desired shape. Poke a hole into each shape, then allow them to dry completely. Paint the shapes with ceramic glaze, then fire them in a kiln. String the clay shaped onto a stick using nylon string.
