- 1). Connect your Xbox 360 to the computer running Windows Media Center via Ethernet cable. You can also connect the two devices to the same network, such as a home network on a router.
- 2). Turn on both devices.
- 3). Run Windows Media Center on your computer.
- 4). Scroll to "Tasks," then choose "Extender" in Windows Media Center.
- 5). Click "Next" on the resulting prompt after reading the introduction to the extender setup. You will then be asked to enter an eight-digit code, which you do not yet have.
- 6). Open Windows Media Center setup on your Xbox 360 by going to "My Xbox" in the dashboard and selecting "Windows Media Center."
- 7). Choose "Continue" after reading the introduction on the Xbox 360 Windows Media Center setup. Your console will check the network then give you an eight-digit code.
- 8). Write down the eight-digit code displayed on your Xbox 360, then enter that code into the extender setup prompt on your computer.
- 9). Follow the rest of the prompts on your computer to finish setting up Windows Media Center to run on your Xbox 360.
