- 1). Install the MapSource software included with your Garmin 76S on your computer. If you have lost or misplaced this software, or it was not included with your GPS, go to the Garmin update page (see Resources) and download MapSource to your computer from there.
- 2). Open MapSource by following the onscreen instructions. Insert your Lakemaster CD into the CD drive on your computer.
- 3). Unlock the Lakemaster map using the 25-digit unlock code that came with your Lakemaster map. The map will then become an option in the MapSource main menu.
- 4). Turn on the GPS. Connect the nine-pin connector on one end of a Garmin 76S PC data cable to a serial port on your computer. Connect the other end of the data cable to the GPS.
- 5). Click "Utilities," then clicking "get unit ID." The name of your GPS will appear in the device field.
- 6). Select the Lakemaster map you want to transfer to your GPS using the Map tool in the MapSource toolbar. A detailed tutorial for transferring maps is available on the MapSource tutorial page. (See Resources.)
- 7). Click "Send to device" on the MapSource toolbar.
