Consumer Protection Act Law in India

Consumer protection act is among one of the law in India. This act is very different from other laws in India, the act which is known as "customer protection act 1986" states all the laws regarding customer protection. The act was established to protect customer interest.

All of us are customers, and being consumers we keep on buying things almost every day. We buy what we need either it is gadget, food, clothes, or it is property, assets, and etc. We usually go to the market ask the price of the product, try to bargain for the price, and then we buy it.

But sometimes we ignore such things which were necessary at the time of buying such as expiry dates, quality of the product, defective piece or not and etc. As there are many unfair trade practice providers in the market so it is important for us to check all of them.

Unfair trade practices are increasing day by day, cheating, exploiting and harassing customers a lot. Due to this it was necessary to establish such laws which not only redress consumer problems of protect customer interest but also educate customers about their actual rights.

Consumer protection act 1986 lay down all the rights for customers. Through which customer can not only protect them but also can redress their problem. customer protection act mandates the establishment of consumer forum. Consumer forum is the special type of courts specially meant for customer and it only deals cases regarding customer problems.

In India there is one apex body which is known as national commission, every state has its state commission, and every district has its own district forum. Consumer protection act has mandated the establishment of consumer forum on every level of our country.

Consumers can easily ask for Redressal for their grievances. Consumer protection act protects customer by educating them about the rights, and redress their problems through consumer forum consumer protection act is one complete act which not only protect customers by redressing their problem but also preparing them for the future by educating them about the problems.

The consumer can easily file their complaints. The filing process is very easy, it just requires written complaint and some related documents. The lawyer is not necessary. Consume can file complaints with national consumer dispute redressal commission (above 1 crore), state consumer dispute redressal commission (up to one crore) and district from (up to 20 lakh).

If the customer is not satisfied with the decision of district forum, then he/she can further challenge the decision of the district forum in state commission and if he/she is not satisfied with the state commission's decision then he can further challenge the decision in national commission.

Consumer protection act 1986 is a complete act of protecting customer interest. By providing complete three tier system for redressal of consumer grievances and by stating the rights of customer makes this act complete for consumer protection.
Although there are many other acts which protect consumer interest personally I feel the consumer protection act is a complete act which protect consumer in every aspect.
