Recently, I met Jake Kevorkian, one of the three co-founders of a fairly new network marketing company.
Normally, I don't go to a lot of events, but I wanted to get a feel for the 'heart' of this particular company and find out why it is catching the eye of such networkers as David Wood, Ray Higdon, Rob Fore, Michelle Alpha, Mark Hoverson, and more more of the top leaders.
Jake did an overview of the company, the products, and the opportunity, followed by a personal development training on The Slight Edge Philosophy.
He was there with his wife, Nancy, and also talked about his family values and how he got started in the network marketing industry, which was an inspiring story in itself.
Everything Jake said about the business and opportunity made sense, but what really struck a chord with me was when he talked about the philosophy of the founders.
At one of their first meetings together, they had all agreed that they wanted their reps to be able to make money but also to have fun doing it.
So far they have stayed true to that vision by offering a lot of incentives to win trips and other events.
Hearing Jake's Have More Fun philosophy especially struck a chord with me because the last advice my dad gave me before he passed away, was 'Have more fun'.
So to come across a group of business minded people were building wealth together, and keeping having fun as a priority as well, was like a sign from the heavens that this company would be a good choice for anyone looking to start a home based business.
There are a lot of factors to evaluate when you are choosing a company to join, but one that usually gets overlooked is how much fun it will be.
Having fun keeps you inspired and attracts others to join you.
Nobody wants more work, and that's one reason a lot of people just say no without actually finding out anything else.
But if you can offer people a fun community of friends to connect with and to enjoy life with AND an opportunity to make some extra money without interfering with their already busy schedule, they may be more inclined to take a look.
Quite simply, life is short so no matter what you do, make sure you enjoy it.
And when you look into a company, you may want to evaluate how much fun you would have doing it.
Make sure no matter what company you choose, you find a way to create time freedom and have more fun with YOUR family in the long run, while at the same time having fun within you business family now.
