How to Copy Checked Selections to an iPod Playlist

    • 1). Plug your iPod into your computer and open the iTunes software.

    • 2). Click and highlight the "iPod" icon appearing in the left-hand column of the iTunes window, beneath the "Devices" tab.

    • 3). Make sure that the "Manually manage music and videos" option is checked beneath the "Options" list. You cannot manually copy songs to your iPod without first allowing this capability.

    • 4). Click "File" from the menu bar and select "New Playlist" from the drop down menu. Make sure that the "iPod" icon still appears highlighted when you do this, so that the playlist appears on the iPod itself and not in the iTunes library.

    • 5). Type in a name for your playlist and press "Enter."

    • 6). Select the songs that you would like to appear in your new playlist by single-clicking them. To choose multiple selections, hold down the shift key while clicking each song.

    • 7). Click any one of your selected songs while still holding the "Shift" key and use your mouse to drag it to your iPod playlist. All of your other selections will automatically copy as well.
