What Are The Most Important Things To Know If I Want To Create My Own Website?

So you're all pumped up and ready to go and get out there and make some money with your new online business idea,

I would imagine that the question that you're asking yourself right about now is " How Do I Create My Own Website ?"

The important stuff was the stuff that they often wanted to rush over and pretty much ignore in the rush to get their new, fancy looking website built and online.

" Do you know which keywords best describe you and your business ?"

" Do you know if there is commercial potential for these keywords ?"

" Do you know if enough people search for these keywords to make it worth while building a site around them?"

" Do you know if these keywords are ones that people actually use to buy products such as yours? "

" What's the competition like in your market ? "

" Who are your main competitors? "

" What keywords are they using to attract customers ?"

And that's just the first few questions.

Now this is not an indictment of our customers.

On the contrary.

We know all of this because we do it day in and day out.

Our customers are good at what they do in their businesses, internet marketing is not their area.

But it knocks them back a bit when we tell them that we need to get the answers to these questions first, before we begin building.

Because they have their own ideas, and often think that they know best.

But often what they think will be successful and the reality of what makes a website successful on the internet can be vastly different.

And we have to just calm them down and help them to have the best chance of making money over the web.

So how does that apply to you ?

Well I can take a bet that you probably have a few possible plans, ideas or business models running around your head right now.

You are probably at the stage where you are asking yourself " how do I create my own website?"

Well before you jump in, just take the time to ask yourself those fundamental questions, because if you can't answer them, you're not ready to build your site.

Go online and check out your market, your competitors and what you're up against.

Because if you are in market where your main competition is people like Adidas or Microsoft, you may want to tweak your idea a little bit, or maybe focus on a smaller area of the market.

Take your passion, build a business around what you love and create a great website, but take the time to do the most important work before you begin to build.

That time and that work is THE most important work you can do for your business, and it is what we see skipped over the most.
