Well, this one I am sure is very controversial.
Eyebrows are raised when it is asked when the best time to learn how to play piano is.
Clearly, one might answer that anytime is.
Being a piano player does take a certain amount of discipline and dedication.
Whether or not you want to be a casual piano player, or a professional piano player, it does take practicing to different levels for each.
The thoughts that a person might have starting out at an early age, would be good for someone wanting to learn.
Now, the key phrase is "wanting to learn.
" Most children that start out at an early age to learn this instrument, are given lessons hoping that as they practice through there younger years into adult hood, that they would have mastered the piano.
Although this is true, why would it be any different if an older adult wanted to learn, if they had the desire too? There is a difference between taking piano lessons, and wanting to take piano lessons.
Most young children take lessons because there parents instruct them to.
Maybe they want there child to have some kind of musical background.
But if the child has no desire to want to learn naturally, learning might take a while longer compared to someone who has the desire to learn.
there is no comparison between the two.
Age does not have a factor when it comes to learning how to play piano.
But if learning to play the piano is pushed upon someone, then this might have a negative affect in relation to learning.
So the bottom line is no.
If you have a desire to learn, then by all means practice.
But if you don't, you should reconsider your choice.
