- 1). Turn on your TV and DVD player without a disc inside. Change the TV's input setting to the correct channel for DVD playback. Press the "Menu" or "Settings" button on your Insignia remote. This may be titled differently on your remote, check the manual's settings section for the exact name of the button that brings up the settings menu.
- 2). Press the up and down arrows on the Insignia remote to navigate through the available settings. Upon finding one you'd like to adjust, press the right arrow and, again, press up and down to navigate the submenu. Some options may have more submenus, to access them, press the right arrow on an appropriate setting.
- 3). Press "Enter" to select a specific setting or option. Depending on the setting, it may require additional adjusting. For example, if you press "Enter" over the players option for setting up a parental locking password, you'll need to press the number keys to enter your new password.
- 4). Read your products user manual if you're confused about some of your player's specific options. Insignia manuals typically explain the majority of the player's customizable settings. When satisfied with the settings, press "Return" until you're taken back to the main menu. You may now either insert a movie or turn the player off.
