There are million types of walking shoes on the market.
Among these are what seems to be a million brands and a million models to choose from.
How does an average person find good comfortable walking shoes among the sea of choices? There are few basic things to look for when shopping for a walking shoe.
You must first consider your feet.
Are you flat footed? Do you have high arches? Do your feet sweat a lot? These are all considerations that you should make as you look for a shoe that will meet your requirements.
If your are flat footed, you will not care so much about having a shoe with high arch support.
Any shoe that is basically comfortable on your feet will probably work for you.
If you do have high arches, you will want a shoe that provides good arch support, otherwise, your feet will tire as you walk, may become sore, or may even develop into plantar fascitis, which is a condition that cause a lot of pain and soreness on the bottom of your feet.
If your feet sweat a lot with socks or while walking, you will want to look at a shoe with good ventilation to let your feet breathe.
Also make sure the shoe fits loosely enough to allow the foot to cool, but not so loose as to cause other issues while you walk.
There are various shoe models that have fabric or holes in the shoe that allow this ventilation to the foot.
A good test of comfortable walking shoes is to just try them on in the store.
Don't be afraid to walk around in the shoe while your there to get a feel for the shoe.
