Measure your portions. While eating large portions is the norm in our society, it is not good for the waistline. Use measuring cups and spoons and a small food scale to appropriately measure food portions according to the serving size on the nutrition facts label. Adopt this practice consistently until it has become a habit. - 3). Eat out less. Not only do restaurants typically serve food in portions that are meant to feed two or more people, but we never know what high-fat ingredients are being used to prepare the meals. Prepare most of your meals at home to ensure that the ingredients are the best choices for your low-fat diet.
- 4). Bake instead of fry. Choosing to bake foods will eliminate the need for oils or fatty butters or margarine. Bake with non-fat cooking sprays or use non-stick pans to further reduce fat.
