    • Anger is normal. It becomes abnormal when the angry person is out of control and engages in rage and destructive behavior that leads to violence. Angry emotions controls you, instead of you controlling the anger. Anger out of control can ruin your life and hurt other people. Anger starts when energy hormones and adrenaline kicks into high gear. It can trigger aggressive responses such as violence.

    • Psychological tests can determine if your angry feelings are out of control and measure how well you respond to angry circumstances.

    Causes

    • Some people are more prone to anger than others. It can be a result of genetics, sociocultural and possibly a dysfunctional family background. Psychologists can determine through psychological tests if children are too angry.

    • Anger management can be addressed in group classes, seminars, individual counseling classes,and online. Many people learn better in a group session. Individual counseling with a licensed therapist is for extreme anger management issues.

    • Anger management classes are also available for children and teenagers. Classes can help young people to handle such issues as stress, peer pressure and school bullying more effectively. It helps children and teenagers to feel less frustrated.
