Home Remedies For Beating Eczema

The key in identifying the best natural treatment for eczema is to understand and know the different causes of eczema. Nobody would want to have this skin condition where you experience itching, redness, and inflamed skin. It is important to know what we can do to deal with this skin disorder.

For treating eczema, a cream with 2% neem oil should be used. To speed up your recovery, neem capsules are also good to use. If you are a pregnant women however, neem oil should be avoided.

Aloe vera lotions soothe the skin, relieve itching and accelerate healing. Cocoa butter lotions are also an equally popular way of treating eczema naturally. If you want to prevent eczema symptoms then it is good to apply cocoa butter based creams. They form a barrier against allergens and irritants and save the skin from eczema attacks. Oatmeal based lotions give equally good results. Conditioning lotions rich in certain minerals and vitamins also help in reducing eczema symptoms.

You can also make changes in the way you take a bath. Normal soaps can have harsh ingredients that can exacerbate your condition. So you need to purchase products that have been sourced from natural ingredients and those that have been known to be gentle on the skin. Don't use loofah on your eczema laden skin, it will only serve to exacerbate your condition. It is recommended to soak yourself in a lukewarm oatmeal bath for 10 to 20 minutes at least. Although some stores carry colloidal oatmeal products it is best just to wrap a few teaspoons of oatmeal in a clean cloth and soak it in your bath.

Dry skin is the main cause of eczema. Hence, it is only logical to keep your skin moisturized at all times in order to prevent eczema flare-ups. After taking a bath, apply heavy ointments on the affected areas. If it is hot in your area, you can always use lighter products that can keep your skin moisturized. Just make sure to avoid products that contain harsh chemicals in order to prevent skin irritations.

You can also use fruits and vegetables lying around the house to juice or blend together to form a paste that you can apply to your skin wherever the affected areas are. Once that is done, you leave it on for about a half an hour. This destroys all the bacteria beneath the surface of the skin as well as moisturizing it. Your main goal in getting rid of this condition is to keep your skin as moisturized as possible.

Raw food diet is another eczema natural cure. Always remember that eczema can be caused by allergens contained in some foods like milk, yogurt, cheese or ice cream. Foods containing sugar and some sea foods can also trigger eczema. Having a balance diet with fresh fruits and vegetables is generally good not only to avoid and treat eczema but for the nourishment of the whole body as well.
