How to Cure a Headache - Natural Headache Relief

You may be a chronic headache sufferer, or you may only get headaches occasionally.
No matter how or why you get headaches, they're still there and they can be a nuisance.
Sometimes they can even be debilitating, distracting you from actually completing your daily tasks.
With so many over-the-counter drugs today promoting ways to relieve oneself of headaches and migraines, you would think there would be less people suffering.
However, these medications only last for a short time, and sometimes don't even work at all.
These can cause dependency and even harmful reactions within the body.
So, how come these drugs don't work, or at least only work for a short period of time? Because these medications only treat the symptom; that is, they only treat the headache itself.
There are ways to get rid of headaches naturally-certain techniques that you can do right now to easily end migraines now, to find a way to calm the mind and body and treat the cause of the headaches, rather than the symptoms.
The best technique to use is to first breathe.
Breathing allows you the opportunity to fill your mind and your body with oxygen, an incredible nutrient, that helps rush a new sense of clarity into your system.
On the onset of a headache or migraine, take one big, fast swooping breath of air in.
Then, let that air out as fast as it came in.
Then, start breathing slowly.
In and out, deeply and easily.
Let your breath flow in a rhythmic, blissful pattern that you can control.
Let this slow, deep breathing continue for as long as you can, or at least 3-5 minutes.
You will then want to say to yourself, "I am relaxed in body and mind.
I control my life, my body and my mind, and I heal myself, right now, with each breath in and each breath out.
" This statement, or one that resembles it, puts YOU back in control of your life and your experience, and it slows down your heart rate, creating a relaxing state of being.
This state is conducive for relaxing your mind and relieving any tension in your head.
You can also pinpoint the exact issues that are causing your headache.
There may be more than one, so write them down.
Sometimes this can make people aggravated by showing them what is stressing them out, causing them to be stressed even more.
Therefore it is a good idea to practice the relaxation technique mentioned earlier.
Then, take each issue, point by point, and develop a strategy you can take to solve the particular problem.
Even if you can't come up with one at the moment, let yourself know that your mind will bring forth a solution, easily and effortlessly by the next hour, day, month, etc.
Allow yourself to take control, relax and breathe.
You can also use calming herbs such as chamomile, lemongrass, rose and rosemary.
These can be made into a tea or used for aromatherapy.
Herbs can be tricky, especially if you are pregnant, nursing, developing, etc.
ALWAYS talk to a certified health practitioner before you start on herbs, even safe ones.
So remember, to find headache relief, all you have to do is go within.
You are an incredible healer, and all you need to do is breathe, listen and allow yourself to relax.
