- 1). Lift the car off the floor with the jack and lower it on to the jack stands. Using the tire iron. remove the lug nuts from the tires and take them off.
- 2). Remove the calipers from the rotors by taking off the bolts located in the back of the caliper. Hang the caliper from the car's frame with a length of wire or a bungee cord to prevent stress from rupturing the brake line and leaking fluid.
- 3). Remove the rotors from the bolts. Clean the new rotors with brake cleaner to remove the rust-proofing they are coated with. The coating acts as a lubricant, and can keep your car from stopping properly if not cleaned off.
- 4). Put the caliper back over the rotor and bolt it into place.
- 5). Bolt the tires on and raise the car off the jack stands with the jack. Remove the jack stands and lower the vehicle to the ground.
