- 1). Determine the nearest Western Union agent location. You can do this by calling 1-800-325-6000 or visiting WesternUnion.com.
- 2). Fill out a Quick Collect form. You can find this form online or at any agent's office.
- 3). Enter the inmate's eight digit Register Number. Make sure to enter it with no spaces and with the inmate's last name directly behind it.
- 4). Enter the inmate's full name on the form's attention line.
- 5). Enter "FBOP, DC" for the Code City. This stands for "Federal Bureau of Prisons, District of Columbia."
- 6). Remit the payment and form to the Western Union agent. In person, you can pay with either cash or credit card.
- 7). Wait for the transaction to process. The transaction will be accepted or rejected at the Western Union office by the prison commissary, depending on whether the inmate's number has been correctly entered and if the inmate is actually at the prison.
- 1). Log onto Western Union's website.
- 2). Sign in if you already have an account or create a new one when prompted.
- 3). Select "Pay Bills & Money Orders" once you have signed in.
- 4). Select "Correctional Facility" from the list of options that appear.
- 5). Select the inmate's facility from the drop-down menu to the right.
- 6). Enter the amount you want to transfer.
- 7). Click "Continue."
- 8). Enter the inmate's eight digit Register Number in the first box and his last name in the second.

Finalize your transfer. A receipt will be e-mailed to you.
