Having a fast metabolism is something most people will love to have.
However, for some people this can be a real problem.
They probably eat more than the average person but their metabolism digests and breaks down the food faster than it should.
When this happens your body will have a hard time storing fat to gain weight.
You can imagine how frustrating it can be for a person with a fast metabolism when they hear people them that they need to start eating.
What these critics don't know is that most people with a fast metabolism eat a lot, but the food they eat doesn't go anywhere.
Luckily, if you have a fast metabolism you can still successfully put on some extra pounds.
The first thing you must do is consume more calories than your body burns.
To accomplish this you have to figure out how many calories you eat everyday.
Then based on your activity level, check how many calories you burn everyday.
You should use a good calorie calculator to help you with your analysis.
After you have figured out these numbers you should eat at least 500 calories more than you normally would each day.
Some people have a faster metabolism rate than others and each person is different when it comes to this.
You should gradually increase the number of calories you consume each day.
Keep this up for a couple of weeks and then check if you have put on weight.
If you haven't noticed an increase in your weight then add more calories to your diet.
The next step is something most people don't think about when trying to gain weight.
You have to exercise, people who have a fast metabolism are afraid of exercising because they know exercising can cause them to lose weight even faster.
However, if you do the right exercises you will actually gain more weight instead of losing it.
You should focus more on weight training when exercising.
Free weights like barbells and dumbells will help people trying to gain weight.
Weight training might get you fatigued faster but you will gain more muscle weight.
If you have a tendency of burning more calories than you consume, gaining weight will have a lot to do with how well you understand yourself and your body's metabolism.
As long as you continue to stay consistent with eating more calories than you burn and focus on weight training that helps you gain pounds in terms of muscle, you will not have a problem gaining weight regardless of your metabolism rate.
