Marquee Tool

• The Marquee tool is used to select rectangular, elliptical and column shapes. To use them, set your options in the Options bar. Drag the cursor over the area you want to select. If you want to change the shape of your object, hold down the Shift key while dragging your cursor over the object.
  
  

Magic Wand Tool

• The Magic Wand tool allows you to select your color range. You can choose a block color and alter the transparency levels using Magic Wand. In the Options bar at the top of the screen, you can alter the tolerance levels on your object. This allows you to be more precise with your selections when working on an image.
  
  

Lasso Tool

• Lasso and Polygon Lasso tools allow you to draw irregular borders. Select the Lasso tool in the Toolbox. Chose your option from the Option bar. Drag the cursor over a blank area of the screen to draw your line/border.
