How to Use Windows Media Player With Opera

    Microsoft Windows

    • 1). Open your Opera Internet browser and download the Windows Media Player plug-in (see resource section below for the appropriate download link). Windows XP and Vista users with Windows Media Player 11 will need to install the plug-in to view Windows media files in the Opera Internet browser.

    • 2). Follow the installation prompts to install the Windows media player plug-in.

    • 3). Restart your Opera Internet browser to finish the installation process.

    Macintosh

    • 1). Log in to your Macintosh operating system using an administrative account that will allow you read and write access for the computer. Open up your Opera Internet browser.

    • 2). Download the Windows Media components for your Macintosh QuickTime player. (see resources section for the appropriate download link). Click on the “Download” button on the Microsoft support webpage to begin your download and open the file when the download completes.

    • 3). Click on the “.mpkg” file to run the installer program. Follow the installation prompts to begin installing the Windows Media components on your system.

    • 4). Close Opera and restart QuickTime. Open your Opera Internet browser for the plug-in installation to come into effect.
