This collection of treat recipes is full of what no Valentine's Day menu should be without: sweet gooey, goodness.
1. Heart-Shaped Custard Hand Pies
In Kartrina’s Kitchen is the home of this creative recipe that not only mimics the holiday pies served at a popular fast food joint, but adds that ingredient you usually only find in homemade recipes: love – in all of its heart-shaped, sprinkle adorned glory. Serve these custard hand pies at your Valentine’s celebration, or pop them into those lunch boxes for a truly sweet, February 14th treat.
2. Heart-Shaped White Chocolate Bark Bites
Melissa from No. 2 Pencil shares her tricks for turning white candy bark into Valentine’s Day deliciousness with these Heart Shaped White Chocolate Bark Bites. Most kids would be thrilled with just their heart-shaped forms, but what makes these bites extra special is the pink-and-red candy and sprinkles with which they’re stuffed!
3. Fudgy Brownie Hearts with Fresh Raspberry Buttercream
Fudgy Brownie Hearts. That alone is enough to evoke a heartfelt "Yummy!" But wait, there’s more: Fudgy Brownie Hearts with Fresh Raspberry Buttercream. I think this bears repeating. Fresh raspberry buttercream. Maybe the kids won’t drool over those three words in quite the same way mom does, but that doesn’t mean they won’t devour these brownies from Brenda at a farmgirl’s dabbles just the same.
And hey, moms need to indulge in a little Valentine’s day decadence, too, so while you’re making them, go ahead and eat some of that raspberry buttercream right out of the bowl. Don't worry, I won’t tell.
4. 2-Ingredient Strawberry Fudge
When it comes to making special treats for Valentine’s Day, there’s one word that speaks straight to my heart: easy. And this 2-ingredient strawberry fudge recipe from Jen at CincyShopper is simply sweet in every way. Jen shares not just her recipe but some great tips for shaping, decorating and using this pretty, pink fudge as gifts.
5. Cherry Chocolate Chip Cheeseball
Here’s a great, pretty-in-pink-and chocolate Valentine’s Day party food from Aimee at Shugary Sweets. The Cherry Chocolate Chip Cheeseball is something kids of all ages will love dipping into! Aimee shares her recipe, along with some sweet ideas for dippers, such as graham crackers and apple slices.
6. 6) Kid Friendly Dipped and Decorated Pretzels
These have to be the prettiest pretzels I’ve ever seen. 5 Minutes for Mom shares how to make their Kid Friendly Dipped and Decorated Pretzels for Valentine’s Day, but I’m thinking they’d also be great for a fairy, princess or other girly-themed birthday party.
7. 7) Chocolate Dipped Krispie Treats (Heart shaped)
As a party planner, I often recommend transforming easy marshmallow cereal treats into some kind of theme-shaped snack food. Mel from Mel’s Kitchen Cafe, however, takes the combination of krispie treats and a cookie cutter a couple of delicious steps further by dipping them in chocolate. And sprinkles. And placing them on a stick.
These Heart-Shaped Chocolate Dipped Krispie Treats are sure to be a hit at your party, but the lollipop versions would also make great Valentine treats for classmates.
