Overcome Overwhelm Today

What are we doing to ourselves and the people around us when we stay stuck in overwhelm? We start by being short and irritable.
We are not fun to be around.
Health risks can include ulcers, migraines, exhaustion and the list goes on.
Do you really want more of this in your life? Have you thought of what you are teaching your children? That busyness and chaos are normal and that they will never be enough? This is NOT NORMAL.
Do you ALWAYS find yourself in overwhelm or do you always find your life is fast paced and you want it all NOW? Give yourself some breathing space to enjoy the journey.
Why does it all have to get done now, on your schedule? Who said yours is the right schedule? Slowing down to enjoy the journey increases creativity, productivity and keeps you on purpose.
Take at least a couple of hours to reflect on your life and ask yourself, are you living the life you want to live? If you were on your deathbed, would you wish your life had gone by faster? I doubt it! When you get to the end of your life, do you want people to say you did things fast or that you were a kind, caring, thoughtful person? When we stay in overwhelm, we are not moving forward to create our lives or our dreams.
How do you change this? The first step is BREATH.
Take a few deep breaths and get present in the moment.
Then, get a piece of paper and write down EVERYTHING that is swimming around in your brain.
This will help you increase awareness and stop the chaos.
Prioritize everything on the list so that it has one of four words by it...
do, delete, delegate or date.
Rewrite the list so it only has the things you need to DO right now on it.
Decide the next ONE step to take and TAKE IT! Turn off your mind chatter by exercising, praying or sitting in nature.
Stay focused on the positive because there is always good in everything.
And JUST DO IT! Move forward with any one thing and you build success and gain momentum.
Before you know it, you won't remember why you felt so stuck.
A common cause of overwhelm is workplace stress.
Expectations are to do way more with less than ever.
When feeling overwhelmed at work (or anywhere in life), it is important to sit down and refocus on the vision of what you want to create.
Re-commit to the vision to be clear you are ready to move forward.
Then create an action plan and take one step at a time towards success.
The same with financial stress.
Create the vision, commit to it and take one step at a time towards creating it.
Ensure accountability by asking for support.
Eliminate energy drainers from your life.
Get rid of clutter! Deal with money issues and put a solid plan in place for money management.
Significantly reduce the amount of time you spend with negative people or doing negative activities like watching news.
Take measures to increase the energy in your life by exercising regularly and eating healthy foods.
Decide to "let go" more and stop needing to control everything.
ENJOY THE RIDE! Do things to rejuvenate yourself and your spirit.
Plan a spa day.
If you have to work late at night, light candles, put on soothing music, do things to enjoy the time.
If you have flexibility, work in the park sometimes so you can be in nature and feel inspired.
Do anything to create joy and eliminate overwhelm.
Life goes by so fast we better be enjoying the ride!
